Dave is a co-founder of LAVA Strategies, where he dedicates his efforts to driving issue advocacy and creating significant social impact for clients. With a combination of strategic guidance, advisory expertise, and execution, he consistently achieves wins in this domain. Dave is deeply involved in advising and devising strategies for prominent funders and nonprofit organizations across the country.

Over the last decade, Dave played a pivotal role in securing legislative victories that reshaped the social landscape in Illinois and beyond. These wins encompassed various areas, including the passage of the marriage equality act, adult-use cannabis legalization, climate change initiatives, civics education advancement, and improved access to mental health

Before establishing LAVA Strategies alongside Jennifer Lee, Dave led successful issue advocacy and political engagement initiatives centered around social impact at Beyond Advisers.

Prior to that, Dave founded and managed the Chicago office of Civitas Public Affairs Group. This nationally recognized bipartisan firm specializes in developing winning strategies for complex issues.

Dave's extensive professional background includes:

• Serving as Vice President at Newsweb Corporation, where he provided crucial advice to Chairman and Founder Fred Eychaner on politically significant, philanthropic, and corporate matters for the Chicago-based media company and family office.

• Leading various initiatives for Eychaner's Alphawood Foundation, including overseeing the construction of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park. This remarkable $53 million memorial, designed by Louis Kahn, stands on Roosevelt Island in New York City.

• Serving as the Lead Advance Representative for a distinguished roster of current and former leaders, including President Joe Biden, President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Mayor Mike Bloomberg. This work has taken him throughout the United States as well as to a number of nations, including Germany, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, Rwanda, South Korea, Spain, and Tanzania.

Dave holds a BA in political science from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
